Kevin's Cheese Pizza

For the Pizza:

• 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
• 1 cup pizza sauce
• 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• Italian seasoning
• Garlic powder

Optional Homemade Dough:

• 3 cups bread flour
• 1 packet (2? tsp) instant yeast
• 1 cup warm water
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons olive oil

📋 Instructions

1. Prep your dough: If using store-bought dough, let it come to room temperature for 30 minutes. For homemade: combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy. Mix in flour, salt, and oil. Knead 8 minutes until smooth. Let rise 1 hour.
2. Preheat your oven: Crank that oven to 500°F (260°C) or as hot as it goes. If you have a pizza stone, put it in while preheating. A hot oven is the secret to pizza perfection.
3. Shape the dough: On a floured surface, press out the dough with your fingertips, then stretch it into a 12-14 inch circle. Don't use a rolling pin ? hand stretching keeps those air bubbles for a better crust.
4. Sauce it up: Transfer dough to a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal (or a baking sheet). Spread pizza sauce evenly, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust.
5. Cheese, please: Cover the sauce generously with shredded mozzarella. Kevin wanted a CHEESE pizza, so don't be shy ? pile it on! Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and a light dusting of garlic powder.
6. Bake it: Slide pizza onto the hot stone (or bake on the sheet) for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden, and the crust is crispy and charred in spots.
